1 – Data Controller and Contact:

Data processing is carried out by the IWGTEA Conference Organizing Committee, affiliated with FEA-USP (the School of Economics, Business, and Accounting at the University of São Paulo).

During registration and/or submission, the following personal data may be requested:

• Full name
• Email address
• Institutional affiliation
• Country and phone number
• Other information necessary for managing registration and submissions

All forms are processed through a secure external platform that stores the data in a protected environment and complies with international data protection and security standards.

3 – Purpose of Data Processing:

Personal data collected will be used solely for the following purposes:

• To manage registration and participation in the IWGTEA Conference;
• To send administrative and operational communications regarding the event;
• To issue certificates, receipts, and internal reports;
• To send information about related academic events or future IWGTEA editions, subject to participant consent.

4 – Legal Basis:

The processing of personal data is based on:

• Consent of the participant (as provided under Article 7, I of the Brazilian LGPD);
• Performance of a contract or pre-contractual procedures related to registration and participation;
• Compliance with legal obligations applicable to the event organization.

Participants may withdraw their consent at any time by contacting the organizers at iwgtea2026@usp.br.

5 – Data Sharing:

Data may be shared only with:

• The IWGTEA Organizing and Scientific Committees;
• Technology service providers contracted to operate the registration and submission platform;
• Institutional partners directly involved in the event’s administrative or academic purposes.

Data may be transferred internationally if the platform’s servers are located outside Brazil. In such cases, appropriate safeguards and protection standards are ensured.

6 – Data Retention and Security:

Data will be retained for the period necessary to carry out the conference and to meet administrative obligations.
Data may be retained longer for future communications only with the participant’s consent.
The organization adopts technical and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse of personal data.

7 – Data Subject Rights:

In accordance with the Brazilian LGPD, participants have the right to:

• Access, correct, or update their information;
• Request deletion or anonymization of unnecessary data;
• Withdraw consent at any time;
• Obtain information about data sharing with third parties.
